Lake Living

This home on Lake Talquin in Tallahassee was purchased furnished. The advantage was my clients were able to move in quickly since they kept their prior home in another state. The disadvantage was it was someone else’s style not theirs. My first impression of the house was that it was too earthy. From the front door, you were overwhelmed with brown and gold and tan everything. A home with gorgeous lake views should reflect its surroundings. We began the design process with the purchase of the egret painting for the foyer. Then we selected blues and grays and teals to create a more serene feeling. The new home design compliments life on the lake. Painting the walls and cabinets, replacing the furniture, adding artwork, and updating the lighting created cohesiveness in the open floorplan.
